Large object 3D Scanning can be tackled in a few different ways. We have used Lidar over the years. It has been reliable and gives you accuracy up to 2mm. However, be careful as all 3D Scanning is a line of sight, therefore, the data needs to be scanned from different sides to get a better overall 3D Object. As the Lidar does not shoot lifelike colors you would need to Photograph or bring in a Drone to get the images you need. The Drone is also a great idea to get Photogrammetry of the building as well and it would be in color. You would also need to measure a window or door to set the scale properly for the building. Of course, you could also capture Trains, Airplanes, Cars, and Trucks as well. Anything large, even the studio sets, to have somethingscanned in the event in post you need a clean set, you have a known measurement in the scale of the building or item 3D Scanned.
